Famous or Infamous Lies?

Famous or Infamous Lies?

A lie occurs when one person intentionally and deliberately misleads another. Now, you may think this description of the lie is somewhat obvious, even boring and not worth further thought, yet people as well as being deceived by lies are fascinated with them and by the people who tell them. But why? Some experts believe our interest in lies and deceit is simply because each time a liar is detected we have to accept the fact that we're all vulnerable which many find a difficult pill to swallow.

However, in addition to struggling constantly to find the truth the lie has nonetheless been glorified in thousands of quotes, some of which are profound, others remarkably observant and many delightfully sardonic.

We'd like to share with you a few of the thousands of quotes about lying which we have so often found so appropriate.

In no particular order, here they are:-
